Maybe the longest line was in Akihabara.

According to Twitter user Kaztsu, the line at the Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara reached around 800-people long.

Or maybe it was Yodobashi Camera at Shinjuku’s West Entrance, which according to this Twitter user might have seen as many as 1,000 people line up.

But the cut-off point was the 400th person in line.

Some people even lined up in rural parts of Japan. The lines, however, were much smaller. Here, sixteen people waited for pre-orders.
While I’m certain that there were some stores were getting a pre-order was easy, at many of the biggest retailers, that was not the case.

If you are wondering why people lined up, Famicom Mini shortages are probably one reason. Another is that online pre-orders for some sites also went quick — in a matter of minutes.
